  • '10-'11 DCP Internship Program (Oneonta)
Are you sick of internships that only ask you to pour coffee and make copies? Does you like the idea of setting your own schedule? What if Facebook, Twitter, and web-surfing were part of your job description? We may have the opportunity for you! The DCP Campus Internship program flourished last year at 15 schools throughout the Northeast. For the 2010-2011 academic year, just 30 positions are being offered. We developed the opportunity to teach students the skills that aren't being taught in the classroom. At schools throughout NY and New England we teach students how to run a business and learn skills applicable in the dreaded "real world". Our 1 goal is to ensure our seniors have a job when they graduate. Each of our seniors last year had a job within a month of graduating. Program participants are the eyes and ears on the campuses we serve. This is not a sales position. We don't hire sales reps and we don't use a street team on campuses. Students work with our marketing team to create and execute a plan that will be effective for each individual campus. We provide an opportunity to attend company meetings and events, offer input on company decisions, and develop company promotions. Some may have an opportunity to work with our more notable clients. Many of the programs, rules, and processes are developed by the students in the program. You're in charge. We provide support, guidance, and resources to help ensure your experience is a success. Important Info: This is not a sales position. If you're looking for a sales position, we do not have any positions available. This is a paid position. Students may receive class credits, scholarships and grants depending upon school requirements. This information is discussed during the interview process. You set your own schedule. Students rarely work more than 3-5 hours per week. We do not have a time requirement provided work is complete. Experience not necessary. We prefer to train individuals with no experience, rather than break bad habits. Downtown Custom Printwear has doubled in size each of the last 3 years (hence the reason our website is outdated and currently under construction). Full time opportunities may be available for Spring 2011. We plan to hire entirely from within. The position is limited to 1 student from each campus. We work with students from a variety of different studies, including: engineering, economics, marketing, business, sociology, psychology, women's studies, medicine, arts, and more. To apply, email cover letter & resume. We do not hire based on experience (because let's face it, students don't have much), so we look for a reason to provide someone with an opportunity. We are not the company that frowns upon your fancy resume or unique application. Along with a resume and cover letter, students are encouraged to submit videos, Digg/Stumble Upon/Delicious links, personal websites, facebook pages, and other information that demonstrates why they are a good fit for a position with DCP. We are currently interviewing applicants. All applications are received and processed through our Boston office. Applications submitted through our Schenectady, NY, office will not be reviewed. All decisions will be made prior to September 1st.
